The Container Cafe Stratford
Our visit took place mid morning. Too well fed for brunch we opted for the big fat brownies, a bargain at £1 each. To put this in context I had just bought some very disappointing brownies at Blackheath Farmers’ Market so I was delighted to discover that the Container Cafe brownies were pleasingly moist and gooey.
The cafe is quite small inside with seating for around 16 people but there is a larger decked area outside which was buzzing with people when I excitedly returned two days later on a sunny Saturday.
The interior has some quirky touches like builders’ helmets on coat hooks and little stools reminiscent of the London 2012 logo.

i love your postcards blog post..takes me to where i've never been before! 🙂 Your son loves the camera! 😀
What a wonderful postcard. It somehow reminds me of my trips through Canary Wharf on the DLR when I first came to London when the entire plece seemed to be a building site.
ohhh even i cant wait for the Westfield mall to open…and il just be 2 stops away from the glorious shopping mall. The olympic site/ cafe sounds interesting…shall make a trip there some time.
Super timing I have been thinking of taking the children for an expedition to the site and as always I like to know the catering angle is going to work ! Thanks for the super thorough postcard. xx
I didn't even know that this cafe existed! Very cool.
Didn't realise you were in the process of redesigning the blog, shall look forward to it. 🙂
