Hello — I’m Sarah Trivuncic, a recipe writer based in Walthamstow Village. I founded Maison Cupcake in 2009, and over the years it’s grown into a collection of hundreds of recipes for home cooks who love simple, good food with a touch of French inspiration.
Although there’s a large archive of baking and desserts here, my recent recipes focus on everyday, easy thrifty dinners made from affordable ingredients (I shop mostly at Aldi). My cooking is also shaped by my long-standing affection for France — I’ve visited over 70 times – where the markets, bakeries and made-from-scratch meals continue to influence how I cook and write.
My recipes have been featured in publications including Women & Home, The Lady and Cupcake Heaven. I’ve written a cookbook (Bake Me I’m Yours: Sweet Bitesize Bakes*) and contributed food and lifestyle pieces to national websites. I’ve worked with scores of brands including Panasonic, Vitamix and Waitrose and been a brand ambassador for British Lion Eggs and Bramley Apples. As an award winning OG London food blogger, Maison Cupcake won Best Tasty Blog at the Britmums’ Brilliance in Blogging Awards and was twice a finalist in The MAD Awards in the food-blogging category. I was a weekly writer for the BabyCentre parenting blog over several years and more recently a regular restaurant and culture contributor for London Unattached.
Maison Cupcake is where I share the kind of food I cook at home in real life: approachable, budget-friendly meals with warmth, flavour and the occasional French twist.
