Something about this month’s Mactweets macarons was to be new. “Maybe drying out fruit to create a new flavour/colour powder, try Italian meringue, try new flavour combos, try getting feet if you’ve never done that before… or use your macs to create a new dessert. Out with the old, in with the new!”
Now for my second “disaster” of the week. The France Show…

{HUGS} to you my dear Sarah…I SALUT your sporty spirit to try and try again. Heaven knows how many more failures I have on the way, but now I do 1 egg white batches, and make loads of Bavarian cream for cake fillings. Egg whites just happen to collect. I was fortunate to find feet this time, but Jamie had a flop too. These are the finickiest creatures of them all. I can say from experience, you will suddenly find them again! Don't be hard on yourself sweets! I love what you made…
What a bummer the show was. Pity!! Teddy does look happy though. I can well imagine; no crowds to battle from his little point of view!
I've made macs so many times now but only succeeded once! But I console myself that the original macs were like yours (and mine) flat, feetless and cracked!
Sarah, I really think that this is the month for mac-failures, I really do. And weirdly enough, my first 3 attempts in Sept-Oct-Nov gave me perfect macs then they've been going downhill since. I have been aging more egg whites and will have one final go again as husband is out of town. So sorry for yours although they aren't as bad as you make them out to be!
And POOH on those bad Frenchies and they should've given you back your 10£! A disappointment like that is truly a disappointment when not only you made the trip to go but your expectations were so high. And how dare they cancel the "Chocolate Extravaganza"??? Oh Sarah at least you have adorable, smiling men!
And thanks for sharing the macs for Mactweets! That shows MacSpirit!
Last week I tried thrice Mac znd each time it had treas as they were a disaster. I dont know i will try them again this week.
I didn't fill mine as they didn't even had a teeny weeny feet.
I marvel everyone who make macaroons. It's a big challenge to me. I've been telling myself that I'm going to try this year. They look so tempting. Well done for such determined spirit, Sarah!
